shapes

For a few days me and my class were learning about 3D shapes. First we went outside with a piece of paper with seven 3D shapes and went a search for how many we could find for each one. I found it easy to find some of the shapes but it was hard to find other different shapes. then we learned how to slide, flip and rotate shapes. I found it hard to find out how to rotate one of the shapes. after that we got a grid and we put down how many faces it had. a face of a shape in a cube would be the front and back or the top and bottom, some only had one face or one didn't even have one! we also had to write down how many sides it had witch are just the other side left other than the face. finally we had to write down the vertices with are when a face and side meet and also the corners and also we wrote down what it would be in real life like if it was a cone it would be an ice cream cone. I really enjoyed learning about 3D shapes. Next time I should to re check my answers to make sure they are correct. This is how they turned out!

problem solving week 8

We were learning about finding a odd difference between numbers. we started off working alone then we went into our groups my group is ngaere and maraiah . we used four boxes and connected them making a circle between them and we put a number from one to nine in the boxes and wrote down the difference between them. each group was given a piece of paper with three circles.

I found it easy to find the difference between the numbers.

I found it hard to think of different numbers than others. and we all did one because there were three circles.

I really enjoyed putting the numbers in the squares and sharing with my group.

Next time I think i should make more and try and get more differences. At the end we shared our combinations and put them into a small explaining grid.

Kia ora!  me and room one have been thinking of how to connect our class go the world using the word society, community , citizen exc here are the results!

It was a little annoying to colour it all in but I had fun drawing all the people. People with the same colour means that they are related, sorry that the picture i mirrored and I made the teachers little stepping stones. The princable, Miss Ross is the queen of the classes. There are trolleys going around spread good behaviour and bad behaviour because it is contagious and they get exposed. Thank you for reading! bye.

Kia Ora everyone, Room one and I have been doing reading mahi and learning about society.

We first used a T chart to put up our information that we found by reading a document, watching a video, and reading a definition and then we put the information in the box that we thought would answer the question above. The questions were, what is society, how do you make a society and the facts that we found interesting. This time most of them answered almost all the questions, hope you enjoy! Goodbye.

my assembly- we will rock you video

     I was away for a few days before i knew my items but I know that this song was made by the band queen,one of my favourite bands the singer Freddy Murcery. i'm that girl in the jacket. I think my teacher choose it.  it was a really fun thing to do. i don't know why I kept looking to my sides instead of the front. see ya!                                                                                                           

polygon street

we learnt about geometry and polygons but today we learnt about polygons and we learnt that polygons don't have curves or gaps .

They are always connected so we had to hangaia (create) a polygon pal and a polygon mansion and our challenge was they both had to be symmetrical.
This are my polygon pal and my polygon mansion. My polygon pal's name is herobrine from minecraft the most evil and hard to beat mob/player in the game.  My mansion and my herobrine pal has mostly rectangles used in them both.

My deca tree

this is my deca tree work i am still working on it. it is quite hard to get this far. the question was. the deca tree has ten trunks and on each trunk there is ten branches and on each branch there is ten twigs and on each twig there is ten leafs. there was a lumberjack he chopped off one trunk ,one branch, one twig and plucked one leaf.
